REFILOE MOTSATSI

About

Refiloe Motsatsi was born and bred in the vibrant city of Pretoria West. After the completion of her matric in 2014, she continued to pursue her Bachelor of Science degree specialising in Biochemistry at the University of Pretoria. Upon completion, she furthered her studies in Biochemistry at the University of Johannesburg where she obtained her Honours degree. Her research project entailed the characterisation of defense related flavonoids in Sorghum bicolor in response to bacterial and fungal infection. She is currently studying towards her masters degree in Biochemistry under the supervision of Dr M Mhlongo and Prof I Dubery with a project that aims at exploring the effect of PGPR on the metabolomic alterations in Brassica oleracea (white cabbage) in response to the pathogen Xanthomanas campestris. Her research aims at exploring PGPR as an alternative measure to ameliorate pathogen infection and enhance crop health in an environmentally friendly manner.
